HBO's Weight of the Nation Screening

Please join us to view four episodes of HBO's Weight of the Nation and discuss its implications on our community and society.

Three years in the making, this four-part documentary series, features case studies and interviews with leading experts and with individuals and families

struggling with obesity. The series spotlights the facts and myths of this urgent public health issue, showing how obesity affects the health of the nation and cripples the health care system - and what individuals and communities can do.

The screenings will all be from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, in the Hughes Main Library Conference Rooms A-C on Jan. 10, Jan. 24, Feb. 7 and Feb. 21. Lunch will be available for pre-registrants to purchase at the door.

For more information or to register, click here.

The screenings are hosted by Greenville County Library System, Greenville Forward, LiveWell Greenville, Piedmont Health Foundation, SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC) and the SC Institute of Medicine and Public Health (SC IMPH)

THE WEIGHT OF THE NATION is a presentation of HBO and the Institute of Medicine (IOM), in association with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and in partnership with the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and Kaiser Permanente.
